Our story
The Wee Thistle is more than just a pet friendly day-time restaurant; it's a family-run buisness built on a passion for Scottish cuisine and heartfelt hospitality. We're dedicated to using the freshest local ingredients, crafting homemade meals that reflect the warmth and tradition of our family kitchen.
But we also care about our community too; We host a completely free coffee morning from 10am - 12noon, for those who might like a wee bit of company and a hot drink and some biscuits. We also host an annual and completely free three course Christmas meal on Christmas day for the elderly, disabled and those who may find themselves alone during the festive period.
We feel it is our responsibility to offer exceptional food that goes hand-in-hand with supporting our local farmers at reasonable and affordable prices for our customers and doing our absolute best to help our local community.

Chef liam's kitchen
Our in-house chef, Liam, brings a wealth of experience from Michelin-starred kitchen to The Wee Thistle. His passion for culinary excellence and commitment to using the finest Scottish produce ensures every dish is as close to a masterpiece as he can make it. His specialties are his homemade pies but, in particular, the 12hr slow cooked beef and red wine pies. Our pies at the Wee Thistle always sell out as soon as they come out of the oven!
